We have the best fencing system in North America backed by a strong sense of pride in our service. Our heavy-duty fences have been professionally engineered to meet safety standards and prevent site breaches. We use a heavier gauge wire mesh for our fence panels and our components are longer and made of higher-grade steel. This results in a more durable, stable fencing system.
FAQs
Why should I choose Modu-Loc instead of other fence suppliers?
How far in advance should I place my order?
To ensure product and schedule availability, we recommend contacting us at least 2 to 3 days prior to your required delivery date. Our response time is within 24 hours or the next business day for emergency orders, provided you have an account set up or are able to pre-pay. Although we can sometimes accommodate same-day requests, same-day service is not guaranteed.
For events, how much advance notice we require will depend on the size of the event and the scope of work required. Many of our event clients reach out to us 2-4 months prior to their event. Often, there can be significant planning to ensure the right temporary fence solution. Keep in mind, we also see more demand for event fencing during the summer season. Get in touch with us early to secure your order.
Please note that custom items, like branded screening or special fence orders, require additional lead time as they are made to order.
How do the gates for temporary enclosures work?
We have several solutions for temporary or semi-permanent gates, all of which can be placed anywhere in the fence line. Gates can easily be operated by one person and may be installed to swing or slide open, depending on your preference. We can create gates as narrow as 5’ wide or as large as 30’ wide. While our gates come with standard gate wheels, we also offer specialized all-terrain wheels to ensure a smooth movement over rough or uneven surfaces.
Who is responsible if the panels are damaged or components are missing?
Our process is to count product upon delivery and obtain a customer signature on-site as confirmation that you agree with our count. Any deficiencies are also noted at that time. Therefore, if panels or components are damaged or missing while leased to the customer, it is the customer’s responsibility and fees for replacement of the missing or damaged products may be assessed.
Our full terms and conditions can be found here.
I am concerned about security. How secure is the Modu-Loc fencing system?
While our fence panels are designed to be breach-deterrent, temporary fence alone is typically not enough to stop a motivated intruder. The security of our fence can be enhanced using any of our security accessories. Some examples include using 8′ high fencing, security clamps or security rails. There are several other options depending on your unique situation, which can be discussed with your regional sales representative.
What areas does Modu-Loc service?
Currently, we service 16 locations in Canada and 3 locations in the United States. Find your nearest location here.
How do I set up an account with Modu-Loc?
Simply contact your local branch to obtain an account application form to set up an account. On your first order, we request that you supply a credit card for the first month’s charges. You can continue to use your credit card or be invoiced for the next month’s rental or for new orders. For event customers, we prefer pre-payment for the event via credit card.
Do you sell fencing?
Yes! We have several options for anyone interested in buying rather than renting their temporary fence. Our standard sale panels and pickup panels are designed to be easy to install and are available for purchase all year round.
If you require a more heavy-duty temporary fence system, consider purchasing our used rental fence panels. Engineered to last 20 years, they may be available in a variety of conditions to suit a wide range of budgets. Typically, fall is the best time of year to inquire about purchasing used rental inventory.

When is the best time to buy fencing?
If you’re looking for our purpose-designed sale fence panels, they are available year round. If you’re more interested in our used rental inventory, the best time to inquire about purchasing is in the fall, when projects start to wrap up and the panels are returned to our depots. For more information, see When is the Best Time to Buy Fence?
Should I rent or buy my fence?
There are several factors to consider when deciding whether to buy or rent your temporary fence. Arguably the most important is the duration of the project. Generally speaking, if your project is expected to last 2 years or more, you should consider purchasing your fence. Our sales representatives can provide an estimate for both options to help you make an informed decision.

What type of fence do I need for my site?
Not all fences are created equal. We carry a range of fence types to suit a variety of requirements. For instance, if you are looking to manage pedestrian traffic or enclose a beer garden, our crowd control options will do the trick. If security is a concern, you should consider fencing that is at least 6’ high – or ideally, 8’ high. A remote construction site that is away from pedestrian and vehicular traffic can make do with a light-duty option.
Our expert sales representatives would be happy to provide suggestions based on your unique requirements.
Can I pick up the fence and install it myself?
Yes! If you’re on a tight schedule or budget, you might prefer to pick up and install your rental fence yourself. Please check the dimensions of the panels you are interested in to ensure your vehicle can accommodate them. Our pickup panels are a great option for the DIY customer, as they are designed to fit in the back of a pickup truck or utility van.
If you cannot transport the fence yourself, we can also deliver the fence to you without installing it. By installing it yourself, you can reduce the number of subcontractors on-site and minimize labour costs.
How much does it cost to rent temporary fencing?
Our temporary fencing is usually rented out at a certain price per linear foot per month. The price per foot will depend on many factors, including which part of the country you are in and the style, height and quality of the fence. Across Canada, rental rates can range anywhere from $0.10 to $0.90 per foot for a standard 6’ high fence.
For most customers, it is important to note that the rental rate is only one component of your fence rental bill. Additional charges for handling, delivery, installation and removal, and emergency mobilization may apply. When comparing estimates for fence rental, always ask what is included to ensure an apples-to-apples comparison.
