Position Function

Reporting to the POCO Operations Manager, the POCO Dispatcher is in charge of all day-to-day tasks associated with scheduling deliveries in a safe and efficient manner.  This includes dispatching crews, planned vehicle maintenance, shipping/receiving, record keeping, safety compliance, inventory control, planning, and working closely with drivers and the other Supervisors / Depots in the Lower Mainland region.

This role will require an individual that can help ensure the BC region maintains its “Modu-Loc Way” atmosphere, promoting employee engagement and living our Core Values everyday.  The individual should be a team player who can take charge of situations and ensure crews are receiving complete job details to be able to execute their duties and deliver best in class service to our customers.  The successful candidate will be required to promote our company core values throughout the team and recognize team members who exemplify them.

This Dispatch role is a position that requires a self-motived and dedicated individual.  We are a cyclical business that is heavily influenced by the seasons, and this job requires the right individual who inherently knows when to switch gears and put in the extra effort as needed.  We are looking for candidates with scheduling experience and a willingness to learn, along with excellent customer service skills.  As well, strong mechanical and interpersonal skills are an asset, along with a basic understanding of current CVSE regulations. General knowledge of the Lower Mainland is a definite asset. We are looking to fill this position ASAP.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CVSE rules and regulations. Experience in record keeping, hours of service, logbooks, and maintenance records.
  • Some experience with direct supervision over a crew or team of employees.
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with heavy machinery operation, including forklifts, trucks, and skid steers.
  • Available to help after hours, and on weekends and holidays during busy periods.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to do physical work as required; able and willing to get hands dirty to get the job done.
  • Knowledge of CVSE rules and regulations, safety requirements in the warehouse and on job sites is a must.
  • Ability to “rally the troops”, work shoulder-to-shoulder as required.
  • Ability to perform inventory counts.
  • Must have a clean driver’s abstract and own transportation to and from facility.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and participate in the budgeting process.
  • Ability to get along with peers, management, clients, sales, and general staff.
  • Follow directions as given.
