When it comes to fence rental, you might be surprised to learn that there is more than one type of temporary fencing. In fact, there are a lot of temporary fencing options on the market – and it can be hard to choose the right solution for your specific needs and requirements.

Compared to other temporary fence rental companies, Modu-Loc offers the widest variety of fence styles that can be used in many different applications. How do you know which type of temporary fence is right for your site? Don’t fret! We are here to help you out.

Below are descriptions and common applications for each type of fencing Modu-Loc offers:

Standard Rental Fence Panels

A 6' high dark green steel temporary fence in front of a park.

Our standard temporary fence panels are professionally engineered for strength and durability to provide the highest level of security in the rental fence industry. Constructed with steel and heavy gauge welded wire mesh, these panels are built to last. When it comes to security fence for construction projects or special events, this is the best type of fence to use.

The bases may be anchored to concrete or asphalt for extra stability, while the interlocking steel caps ensure alignment and overall stability. These heavy duty fencing panels can integrate into most of our specialized solutions, such as our fence on jersey system or our concrete block ballast system, for added safety and security.

Available in lengths of 5′ and 10′, and heights of 4′, 6′, and 8′, our standard renetal fence panels suit a wide range of applications. Although they are most frequently used to secure a perimeter, you can use these temporary fence panels for everything from propane compounds to road hockey tournaments.

Common Applications:

  • Perimeter fencing to secure a construction project or restoration work site
  • Perimeter fencing for outdoor festivals and events
  • Temporary storage compounds for job sites or overflow inventory
  • Christmas tree lots and garden centres

Black VIP Fence

Modu-Loc's black picket-style fence is used to create queues at an outdoor event

Our premium black fence panels feature a vertical picket design link together to create a fencing system that effectively manages the access and flow of attendees at special events. These high-end crowd control barriers are made of black powder-coated steel, and provide an attractive solution for crowd control. They’re an especially good choice for any special event requiring a higher-end aesthetic.

You can use black VIP fence to create queues, VIP areas, or beer gardens at any outdoor event. Though they do not make a good security fence due to their height, we have used them as temporary pool fencing for home owners.

Common Applications:

  • Beer gardens and picnic areas
  • Queues for retail and event applications
  • VIP areas
  • Patios
  • Temporary pool fencing

White Picket Fence

Temporary white picket fencing stands in a parking lot. It is decorated with Christmas decorations.

Long associated with the image of a picture-perfect family home, white picket fencing is now available as a rental option! White picket fence is the perfect temporary fencing solution for crowd control and décor at high-end events. Crafted from high-quality PVC, our white picket fence panels offer improved longevity versus traditional wood panels. Secure patios, exhibits or VIP areas without compromising on style.

Common Applications:

  • VIP areas
  • Parades
  • Private events and weddings
  • Event décor

Silver Crowd Barrier

Silver pedestrian barricade is used to create queues in front of a large event tent.

Galvanized steel crowd control barricades are ideal for events requiring an attractive and effective option for managing pedestrian traffic. Also known as bike rack or pedestrian barricade, these crowd control barriers are lightweight but sturdy. The bases are attached to the panels, making it quick easy to set up and relocate your barricade as required.

Common Applications:

  • Indoor construction zones
  • Races and parades
  • Retail or event queues

Delineators

A large stage in the middle of a field. Orange delineators with caution tape encircle the stage.

Need an inexpensive temporary barrier in a pinch? Consider using delineators and rope or caution tape to create a high-visibility stanchion. Our delineators come with a weighted rubber base to keep them stable. Great for a variety of applications, delineators allow you to quickly and easily create a temporary barrier to block off hazardous areas. You can also use delineators to manage the flow of pedestrian or vehicular traffic around a construction zone.

Common Applications:

  • Indoor construction zones
  • Parking areas

Sale Fence

Grey steel mesh construction fencing stands alongside a road. There are orange sandbags on the bases of the fence.

Sale fence is perfect if you are looking to secure a job site for a long period of time, when the cost of renting fence may exceed the cost to purchase it. Our sale fence is simple to set up, relocate, and take down as needed. This type of temporary fence can integrate with other Modu-Loc rental fencing for added security and stability, or to address additional short-term demands.

This is a cost-effective temporary fencing solution for customers who have long-term or frequent site containment needs. See our “Should You Rent or Buy Your Fence?” blog post if you need help deciding whether to purchase or rent your temporary fence.

Common Applications:

  • Long-term construction projects

Pickup Panels

A house under construction is surrounded by a temporary barricade made of steel mesh fence panels.

Technically another type of sale fence, our pickup panels are ideal for customers who want to own their fence but have limited storage and transport capabilities. At only 47″ wide, pickup panels are designed to fit in the back of a pickup truck or utility van – no trailer required! Convenient storage racks are available, with each rack holding up to 50 of these fencing panels. With bases and caps each stored in 4′ x 4′ bins, a complete system of 200 linear feet only requires 56 square feet of yard space.

Because of their small size, pickup panels are easy to install and ideal for securing tight spaces. If you want to be able to pick up and install your temporary fence but aren’t ready to purchase it, you’re in luck – pickup panels can also be rented.

Common Applications:

  • Custom home builds, renovations or landscaping
  • Utility maintenance work
  • Dog runs
